Our Story

Rooted in Savannah, Grown with Care

How a crumbling townhouse on Jones Street became the city's softest landing.

Meet the Founder

Camille Hartwell

Camille spent fifteen years as an esthetician in Charleston and Atlanta before coming home to Savannah with one stubborn idea: that beauty care should feel like being cared for.

In 2016 she found a tired 1870s townhouse on West Jones Street — sagging shutters, glorious arched doorways — and spent a year restoring it by hand with her sister. The wax pots came later; the herb garden came first. Today that garden still supplies the rose petals, rosemary and calendula folded into every in-house blend.

“The South taught me hospitality. Skincare taught me patience. Velvet Bloom is simply both, under one roof.”

Camille still keeps Thursday appointments on the books — ask for her honey-petal facial and you'll understand why they book out a month ahead.

Our Philosophy

Three Things We Believe

Nature Knows Best

Small-batch botanicals, cold-pressed oils and honey from Georgia hives — nothing on your skin we couldn't name over tea.

Ritual Over Rush

We book fewer guests on purpose. Every visit begins with tea and a conversation, and no one ever hurries you out the door.

Hospitality is Beauty

Warm towels, remembered names, your favourite tea steeping before you sit down. Feeling welcome is half the glow.
